CHRISTMAS ARRANGEMENTS 2008

Headteacher's Welcome

We are very proud of the long history of our School and its wide ranging achievements. We have recently received both our ‘Healthy Schools Award’ and a successful Ofsted Inspection report which stated that we are ‘a good school where children are happy and are cared for well. Parents are very pleased with what the school offers and, like the children, are proud to be part of the school community.

As a Voluntary Aided Church of England School we enjoy close links with St Mary’s Church and equally strong links with our diocese, the Diocese of Guildford. This really does add a further dimension to the educational work and rationale of our School which, we believe, is of great benefit.

At the moment we are at a very exciting time in the School’s history in terms of the provision of up to date facilities for all our pupils. We already have a purpose built ICT Suite with an Interactive Whiteboard and, this year, we have been able to improve our resources so that the pupils now enjoy a 1:1 ratio with 32 state of the art computers. Within the last two years we have also completed an enlarged library area as well as extending our school to incorporate two new classrooms. Additionally, all our classrooms now have Interactive Whiteboards and our library has been computerised.

Our SATs results last year were yet again above National results in English and science which is a huge achievement. Nevertheless, performance in music, drama, art and sport thrive alongside the academic subjects. The care and emphasis we place on helping pupils to be confident, articulate and caring prepares them well for the next stage of their education.
